Caries infiltration – stopping decay early
Caries infiltration stops incipient decay without a drill. How the method works and where its limits lie.
The earlier incipient decay is found, the better. A highly fluid resin that penetrates into enamel caries can block the diffusion paths for cariogenic acids. The aim is to spare healthy tooth substance and to stop the decay at an early stage – caries infiltration.
