Loupes: seeing what otherwise stays hidden
Good vision is a basic condition for exact findings and for particularly fine, detailed work.
Loupes magnify the working field two to six times. What looks like a smooth surface to the naked eye reveals cracks, steps and incipient decalcification underneath.
What that means in periodontology
At the gum margin, a tenth of a millimetre decides whether a deposit was removed or left behind. Under magnification that can be checked rather than assumed – and fewer remnants are left on which the inflammation builds up again.
The attached light belongs with it: magnification without good light achieves little.
