Surgical microscopes – showing hidden areas better

Only what can be seen can be treated. A surgical microscope magnifies far more strongly than loupes and brings the light exactly where the work is being done – into narrow canals and deep pockets as well.

Where it is used

• root canal treatment: fine lateral canals become visible that would otherwise stay untreated
• periodontal surgery: diseased tissue can be told apart from healthy tissue
• surgical procedures where millimetres matter
• fillings: margins can be placed and checked more precisely

The benefit lies not in the technology itself but in what it prevents: overlooked foci of inflammation and imprecise margins where bacteria later gather again.
