Brushing from the first milk tooth
Der erste Milchzahn sollte vorsichtig mit einer weichen Bürste und einer kleinen Menge Zahnpasta gereinigt werden
From the first milk tooth onwards, brushing is part of the day. At first a soft brush or a cotton bud with a pea-sized amount of children's toothpaste is enough – twice a day.
Fluoride in the right amount
Children's toothpaste contains around 500 ppm of fluoride. That is enough to harden the enamel without overdosing. Which amount suits your child is something the practice will tell you – it depends on age and on the risk of caries.
The KAI order
Children learn more easily when the order is fixed: first the chewing surfaces, then the outer surfaces, last the inner surfaces. The brush is drawn from gum towards tooth – from red to white.
Until around the age of eight, parents should brush again afterwards. Before that, fine motor skills are simply not sufficient.
