Most of it is decided between the teeth
A tooth has five surfaces. The brush reaches the outside, the inside and the chewing surface – not the two surfaces facing the neighbouring teeth. That is exactly where the majority of all gum inflammations arise.
There are two routes for the spaces between. Interdental brushes clean more thoroughly than floss wherever the space allows; the right size is decisive, and it differs for every gap. Dental floss remains the choice where teeth stand close together and no brush will pass.
Mouthwashes replace neither. They reach the surface, not the deposit: the biofilm between the teeth cannot be rinsed away, it has to be removed mechanically.
Have the sizes fitted at the practice. A brush that is too small does not clean; one that is too large injures.
